The Desk - Solving problems in the luxury market

What this is

Strategy usually arrives as a deck, a call, or an invoice with hours on it. This is none of those. You send one question. I answer it in writing, on a single page, with every source named, within two working days. You keep the document.

The answer carries my name. When you take it into a room, you are not defending a hunch, you are citing a named outside read that Reuters has quoted twice this year.

I take a maximum of three open questions at a time. When the desk is full, the page says so.

What arrives

One page, always in the same form.

The question, restated in the terms I am answering. The verdict, in one paragraph. The evidence, attributed to primary sources. The trade-off the decision carries. And what would change the read.

No anonymous industry sources. Every figure is traced to a release, a filing, a transcript, or a named report, so the answer holds when someone in the room asks where it came from.

Every answer also states what it does not cover. An answer without a boundary is an opinion. This one is built to be tested.

What it is good for

A results print your team is reading three different ways. A competitor move you have to explain upward by Monday. A positioning claim you are about to sign off on. A pricing or distribution decision where the precedent decides the argument.

What it costs

EUR 900. One question, one answer, paid at booking.

Less than an agency meeting. Faster than a study. Yours to keep.

If your question cannot be answered in writing, I tell you within one working day and refund in full. I would rather say no than send a page that does not settle anything.

Where the boundary sits

What you send stays private. Your question, your name and anything that could identify you or your house never appear in my published work. The questions I answer in public are the sector's, drawn from across the desk and from my own reading, never traceable to a client.

If you have more than one question

Buying twice is the wrong answer. Luxury Strategic Notes includes The Desk for subscribers, alongside an Intelligence Brief on every house that reports and the Intelligence Reports that stay open, revised as each marker returns. EUR 1,500 per year.
